Ann Druyan, is the peak of my pyramid of heroes.
Just noticed the newly-released Carl Sagan Portal page. Be prepared to read it and weep.

om"-nee-scop'ic - 1. A broad perspective on the sweet details. 2. Seeing the magical in the mundane, the sublime in the subtle... OK, so I made that up. But here you'll find small bites of big ideas by a medium-sized mind - stories drawn from across space and time to reveal a fresh new view of science and the natural world. If an ENFP's musings on science and nature with a smathering of gushy ramblings is not your thing, feel free not to read on...

I actually stumbled across this website not long after our conversation. I would have mentioned it, except that I thought you would have already known about it:). I didn't realize that Al Gore had studied under Carl. I have newfound respect for Al Gore all of a sudden.
Thanks Marielle, my post was to announce that the website was recently updated. i've been a big fan for a long time. Yeah funny thing about AG, remove the politician, and suddenly you've got a more accessible person.
I love your quote "Awed by nature...and a little odd by nature" It says everything about you: you are a person worth knowing.
